New York City is one of the world’s greatest destinations for theater of all kinds, with Broadway stages as its crown jewels. (Check out our previous article to learn more about chances to score free or discounted tickets!) Many fans look forward to the opportunity not only to see a show here in person, but to bring home souvenirs of their experience.

The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, an annual tradition since 1987 by the nonprofit organization Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, provides those opportunities in spades, drawing in a massive number of fans every year. The money raised by the event goes to providing essential, lifesaving services to those suffering from HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses nationwide, with 2024’s market raising a record-smashing $1,421,675.

At the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, Broadway stars will be available at the Autograph Table to sign mementos (see here for the full list of participating talent), tables for currently active and recently closed productions will sell merchandise (see here for participating shows), and auctions will be held for stage-used props, one-of-a-kind collectibles, opportunities to participate in live shows on stage and behind the scenes, and more (see here for auction lots/schedules).

This year, fans can attend in person from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 21. Fans unable to attend in person will still be able to make their bids on FleaBay, Broadway Cares’ online fundraiser, from September 15 to 21. Visit Broadway Cares’ website here for more information attendees will need to know.

The event is outdoors and will take place in New York City’s Theater District on West 44th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, as well as West 45th Street, Shubert Alley, and Times Square, so expect road closures, crowds, and traffic around this area.
